Bob & Gill to sing on Late Junction Christmas Eve!
just a quick mention that you can hear us singing on Late Junction, BBC Radio 3, on Christmas eve after 11.30pm.
Verity Sharp is presenting the programme and there will also be some music from our friends in Oxford - the wonderful Magpie Lane - and others.
Verity delivers the most amazing range of music on her programmes and we are looking forward to it greatly.
Hopefully we will be back from the pub in time after performing the last of the Potterne Mummers plays.
New Recording.
Back in June this year we had the great opportunity of being involved with a recording with the wonderful Loreena McKennit on her latest album " A Midwinter Night's dream". The track is "The Gloucestershire Wassail" . Samples of Loreena McKennits music, including the wassail can be found on www.quinlanroad.com
Bob & Gill recorded a song from the singing of Loreena on their previous album "Sitting on a tree" on the WildGoose record label. The track was called" Bonny Portmore" and can be heard on their Myspace site: www.myspace/bobandgillberry
EFDSS Awards.
Bob & Gill are delighted to have been given an award in last years English Folk Dance & Song Society Anniversary Awards ceremony which was held on Monday 11th June 2007.
The EFDSS 75th Anniversary Awards were a way of honouring many of the people who have made significant contributions to the development and continuity of traditional English folk music, song and dance. We are delighted to receive this award however it is also to the friends and fellow enthusiaststht have supported our endeavours to share this wonderful music and song.
